According to a report in the telegraph, Sony's chairman Howard Stringer said that the company will launch Android's Honeycomb based tablet later this year. Sony has previously indicated that it was working on both a PlayStation-accredited “S1” tablet and a folding “S2” version.
Honeycomb seems to be a promising platform for tablets even though the tablets based on it do not have great things to talk about. The first Honeycomb tablet, The Motorola Xoom hasn't had great sales figures so far. Samsung will soon launch couple of tablets based on honeycomb of sizes 8.9 and 10.1 inches. The HTC flyer currently with Gingerbread is expected to get honeycomb very soon; this is one device to keep eyes on. Google itself plans to roll out a tablet in it's Nexus series under the brand name of LG.
